JOB SUMMARY:
Providing prompt and efficient care to the residents to meet their physical, mental, emotional and social needs and keeping the resident clean, safe and comfortable under the direction and supervision of a licensed staff member.
All care must be done in a loving and caring manner using compassion and kindness while at the same time trying to maintain their independence.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sits stands and walks frequently through out work day. Bend, twist, push and pull frequently exposed to odors, infections and body fluids. Deal with behaviors and reactions of the elderly. Deal with other staff members personalities. Temperatures of residents rooms depending on season
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
High School Diploma/GED Required or valid CNA certification. Experience helpful but not a must. Responsible, desire to work with the elderly who may have dementia or any handicap. In good mental and physical health/must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including lifting residents, bending, twisting, turning, reaching, stooping, pushing and kneeling etc. able to be on feet long periods of time. Patience, kindness and compassion are a must. Always be pleasant, tactful and courteous when dealing with residents and their family and friends. Same applies to any visitors and co workers. Bad attitudes are not acceptable. Able to multitask using good time management skills. Be a good listener. Always show respect to the residents and co workers. Be attentive to residents. Offer assistance when needed. Act as a resource. Smile often
SUPERVISION GIVEN:
Assists with training of newly hired PCA's.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Director of Nursing following established procedures.
